## Game modes
### Classic Quiz
15 questions across all 5 categories. Pick a difficulty before each run.
### Daily Challenge
10 questions seeded deterministically from today's date. Play every day to grow your streak; rewarded with streak-based achievements (3, 7 and 30 day milestones).
### Relay Mode
Team play - pass the device between teammates after every lap. The combined score wins the gold.

## Special elements
- **Underwater bonus questions** - tighter clock, 200 base points (vs 100), highlighted with a red banner
- **Streak bonus** - 3+ correct answers in a row add +25 to each subsequent correct answer
- **Swimmer cards** - 8 collectible legends unlocked by career score
- **Tip of the Day** - a different training tip surfaces each day, pulled from the Encyclopedia
- **Achievements** - 16 badges across games-played, score, medal, streak, difficulty and category milestones
- **Local leaderboard** - your top 10 scores with mode/difficulty tags
## How to play
1. **Splash** shows the gold-medal animation, then auto-advances to the **Pool Deck**.
2. **First launch** automatically shows the How To Play tutorial.
3. From the Pool Deck (3x3 grid):
- **Classic Quiz** - solo run across all 5 categories
- **Daily** - today's 10-question challenge
- **Relay** - team mode briefing
- **Achievements** - badge progress
- **Statistics** - career stats
- **Encyclopedia** - learn the sport
- **Cards** - swimmer legends
- **Leaderboard** - top 10 scores
- **How To Play** - the in-game guide
4. Tap **Settings** (bottom of the home screen) for sound toggle, lap pace, and career reset.
### During a quiz
- The category badge tells you which subject you are being tested on
- A red **BONUS - Underwater Round** banner appears for bonus questions (worth more, with a tighter timer)
- Tap one of the four answer cards before the timer reaches zero
- Correct answers trigger a **splash animation** and award **time-bonus** points
- Wrong answers trigger a **shake** and the correct answer turns green
### Result screen
After the final lap the **Pool Legend** screen appears with:
- Your medal (Gold/Silver/Bronze based on accuracy)
- Total score and elapsed time
- Newly unlocked swimmers (if any)
- A celebratory splash animation around the medal
