ExpSafe: Projectiles
iOS Universel / Références
**ExpSAFE Projectile Calculator Pro** is a Level 1 mobile engineering tool designed to facilitate generic fragmentation assessments in support of rapid safety assessments. The primary reference source for the formulae utilised in this application is the International Ammunition Technical Guides (IATG) 01.80: Formulae for Ammunition Management, with permission from the United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs (UNODA).
It is noteworthy that UNODA has initiated a project called ‘UN SaferGuard.’ Their website serves as an invaluable resource for technical information and offers a comprehensive range of complimentary online tools pertaining to ammunition safety. The website introduces and summarises scientifically proven and sound formulae that can support decision-making and risk management processes.
FEATURES OF THIS VERSION
The professional edition provides the following functionality:
- Capability to determine fragmentation initial velocities in accordance with the gurney constant associated with selectable explosive types.
- Determine the Hazardous Fragment Distance (HFD) in alignment with munitions storage facilities, considering two distinct approaches that are directly related to explosives and case weight.
- Conduct V50 distance assessments that are based on the default fragment shape factor and drag coefficients, that aligned to the user’s selected fragment mass.
- Determine the strike probability on a defined target (area) at a specific distance based on a multi-step process that utilises Motts distribution to calculate the number of fragments heavier than a reference fragment mass. Included in the analysis is the option to select two approaches that predict of the probability of a hit linked to areal density.
- Determine the disposal distances associated with fragmentation hazards as outlined in AASTP-1 and IATG 01.80.
- Show the calculated fragmentation distance utilised by EXPLOSIM to support training scenarios.
- Ability to toggle between imperial and metric units for input parameters and results.
