Anush
iPhone / Style de vie
Anush is a small house for a 1,500-year-old practice.
After your morning coffee, drink it slow. Turn the cup over on its saucer. When the grounds settle, take three photographs and Anush will read them, the way your tatik would have read them, if she were sitting at the table.
This is not a horoscope. It is not a fortune. It is a quiet, observational reading from someone who has been at this for fifty years. The app generates each reading from the photographs of your specific cup, looking at the way the grounds settled, the shapes the cup made of itself, what the rim and the base have to say. Sometimes it is light. Sometimes it has weight. The cup decides.
Each reading is yours alone, written once, kept on your shelf forever. You can come back to it tomorrow, next week, on a morning years from now when you want to remember what the cup said the first time you drank it slow.
Anush is bilingual. English and Armenian, your choice. The voice does not change between languages. The practice does not either.
THE SHAPE OF A READING
Every reading carries five movements: the general energy of the cup, the rim and the upper wall (the present moment), the middle (your inner world), the base (what is settling), and the symbols themselves. The app names what it sees, a path forming, a cluster of grounds, a hook, an open shape, and tells you what those would mean to a reader who has done this for decades.
The closing line of every reading is something you can save, share, or keep in your pocket for the day.
WHAT MAKES ANUSH DIFFERENT
· No advertising. No social feed. No streaks. Just the cup.
· Readings are immutable once written. We do not let the model second-guess itself, and we do not let the app overwrite what your cup said.
· Your photos are not stored. They are sent to the AI in memory only and discarded once the reading is generated. Only the reading text is kept.
· Your account belongs to you. Sign in with Apple, with Google, or with your email. Delete your account and everything you made any time, from the Settings tab.
· The voice was tuned across many drafts to feel inherited, not generated. It does not sound like ChatGPT. It sounds like a tatik you remember.
A SMALL TECHNICAL NOTE
Anush uses Anthropic's Claude AI to generate readings. The model is shown the photographs of your cup and asked to read them in the voice and structure of an Armenian tasseography reading. Nothing in the reading is pre-written.
The app's design draws from Armenian manuscript traditions. The vordan karmir red comes from the historic dye that gave Armenian rugs and manuscripts their color for over a thousand years.
THE SMALL HOUSE
Anush exists to keep a practice alive in a form that fits in your pocket. It does not want a lot of your time. It does not want your data. It wants you to drink your coffee slowly and let the cup speak.
Once written, kept.
For every tatik who read a cup before us. The voice is borrowed; the practice is hers., Vardan Kirakosyan, Los Angeles, California
