PrivAI is an intelligent application based on the DeepSeek-R1 distilled model, designed for users who prioritize privacy and convenience. Distillation, in this context, refers to a technique where a smaller model (the student) is trained to replicate the behavior of a larger, more complex model (the teacher). This process involves feeding the same input data to both models and then adjusting the student model to produce outputs that closely match those of the teacher. Through this method, we have created a highly efficient model that retains much of the performance and accuracy of the original, but with significantly reduced computational requirements.
For PrivAI, our team fine-tuned the distilled model using a diverse set of tasks including text generation, summarization, translation, and question answering, ensuring it excels across multiple domains. The training dataset consisted of billions of sentences from various sources, allowing the model to learn a broad spectrum of linguistic patterns and contexts.
