Welcome to the DEKRA Safety Index!

DEKRA Safety Index App combines the main aspects of DEKRA Safety Index in a simple and easy-to-use App. It monitors your driving style and calculates your individual DEKRA Safety Index Score.

#1 What exactly happens when I use the app

When you start recording your ride in the DEKRA SAFETY INDEX app, it will gather your phones’ GPS and acceleration sensor data. Hereby the app is able to calculate current speed as well as acceleration and braking forces. The DEKRA Safety Index is then calculated out of these three sub-scores.

Your data is synced to the DEKRA Servers at the end of each ride. You are free to activate “Sync on WIFI” in the Settings Tab to avoid using mobile data.

The app automatically detects standstills (e.g. in a traffic jam) and considers these when calculating your Safety Index.

During recording, feel free to put your phone into standby to save battery.

For optimal accuracy, put your phone where it will not move while driving (e.g. your center console).

Why should I use the app?

By using the DEKRA Safety Index, you are actively contributing to more road safety. After using it for a few rides you will probably notice a more engaged mindset towards strong acceleration and braking.
