Mega Mahjong
iOS Universel / Divertissement
Mahjong is a tile-based game invented more than two hundred years ago in China, and it has been played around the world ever since. Normally it is played with four players. Playing the game becomes one of the most natural ways of making new friends and strengthening social bonds. The game was invented around the same time as the Industrial Revolution, and it has just about as much impact on our social lives as many other machineries invented back in the time.
You can play our Mahjong game with friends. And if all of them are too busy, we will bring in the robots to the game room. I have won and enjoyed many games against three other robots in the room, and so will you!
The goal of the Mahjong game is to organize normally 14 tiles, through risk calculation and making strategic moves, into sets. A set is three (pèng) or four (gàng) identical tiles or three consecutive (chī) tiles, and a pair is two identical tiles. To win the game is to form four sets and one pair by drawing and strategically discarding tiles and by taking hú/gàng/pèng/chī/guò actions on tiles discarded by other players, as guò means "pass," or no action, and hú means "score!" when the goal is reached.
There are only 21 Chinese characters (words) to learn to master the Mahjong game: 5 action words, hú/gàng/pèng/chī/guò, for all the game moves; 9 Chinese numerals, 1 to 9; and 7 suit words.
We have implemented the most classic and fun version of the game, and there are many more versions yet to come!
The game has been played around the world since it was invented. There are many variations of the classic rules that have been invented. They all make the game more fun to play. If you are interested in building Mahjong games for those variations, we invite you to team up with us. Together, we will be building new Mahjong games, implementing rules played by different Mahjong communities worldwide, on top of our existing game mechanics and software frameworks.
Happy Mahjong'ing !
