MathAppy 1 helps high school and secondary school students learn to rearrange and manipulate maths and physics equations. Typically we aim that the app be used by 11 to 16 year old students, although it is suitable for other age groups too.

The principles of equation manipulation, learnt from simply viewing the process as it is performed in the 124 rearrangements in MathAppy 1, are the basis for much of the equation manipulation that is seen not just in maths and physics, but engineering, chemistry and indeed all mathematical subjects.

Excellent equation rearrangement skills are absolutely fundamental to success in any of the STEM subjects, so well worth mastering.

In MathAppy 1, there are no tests, nor even any user text entry requirements, MathAppy 1 is a burden free learning and reference tool while being exceptionally easy to use.

There are seven sections,
Common Manipulations
Perimeter, Area, Volume & Mass
Force, Energy, Work, Power & Momentum
Motion
Electricity
Trigonometry
Waves

Within each section is a library of section specific equations.
Users can select any equation and choose to view it being rearranged to make any of its terms the subject of the resulting formula.

Each of the 124 equation rearrangements is by default performed in a number of small, easily followed, steps. No single step is too large so that each step, and thus each complete manipulation, is easy to follow. Each rearrangement step is revealed only when the user clicks the 'Next>' button beside the previous step,
so the rearrangement process must always be followed one step at a time! Users can step back to any previous step if they are unable to follow what has happened and repeat the stepping forward process more slowly.

Each step is always accompanied by a brief description of what is being done in that step and there is an option which, when enabled, displays a second longer description beneath each step as well.

To conform with best mathematical practice, each of the equals signs in 123 of the 124 rearrangements sit in a perfect column, one beneath the other. And the equals sign is also perfectly centred in our logo too!

To further help the user, each section has its own dedicated glossary of terms, so that users can check to see what any unknown terms represent while ensuring that there is no risk of confusion where the same term (e.g. 'h') is being used to represent a different variable in another section.

As the user's skills grow they may choose to reduce the number of steps which are seen when rearranging each equation. There are four options all of which are enabled by default each time MathAppy 1 is launched which, when disabled, shorten the number of lines of rearrangement seen to achieve the final equation. These simple options are expected to be used more often as the user's experience and skillset grows.

We hope you enjoy MathAppy 1. It genuinely is a uniquely easy to use educational and reference tool. Great for anyone endeavouring to get to grips with the fundamentals of equation manipulation.

Note: MathAppy 1 does not collect any personal data from users. All users are entirely anonymous and the only information we may see is
aggregated download data supplied by the Apple App Store over which we have no control.
