Deep Green
iOS Universel / Jeux
A no-nonsense classical chess app.
- CLEAN UI: Deep Green offers a distraction-free experience in a clean, native user interface.
- CUSTOM PIECE DESIGN: Beautiful chess set designed specifically for Deep Green and rendered at high resolution in both outline and 3D throughout the app.
- TIGHT SYSTEM INTEGRATION: Deep Green is built as a native app and features system-level Sharing, undo/redo, contextual menus, Dark Mode and more.
- OPEN GAME FORMAT: Games can be shared, saved, copied, pasted, imported, exported in the ubiquitous, open source PGN and FEN formats.
- UNIQUE CHESS ENGINE: Enjoyable opponent with adjustable strength, praised for its humane gameplay, developed for Deep Green on the Apple Newton more than 25 years ago.
- TWEAKABLE APPEARANCE: Engage the knights in the game by having them turn towards the center of the board, apply a humane, slightly random placement of the pieces.
- MODERN ARCHITECTURE: Rewritten from scratch making it a modern, maintainable app, prepared for the future.
- PRIVATE, AD-FREE: No ads, no tracking, no analytics, no nonsense.
If you like Deep Green, please rate it favorably on the App Store.
Quoi de neuf dans la dernière version ?
Added
- You can now Share to Deep Green directly from within Files.app and other apps that can share PGN content.
Fixed
- Engine could crash while making move right after opening game (thanks Richard!)
- In a game where the player resigns after being checked, the king now goes to show resignation instead of just flashing and going back to normal.
- When sending an e-mail to support@deepgreen.app from within the app, it is now as plain text, not HTML. Unless you specifically apply rich content.
Plus the recent improvements in version 2.0.1:
Added
- Dark and Tinted app icons on iOS 18, refreshed light mode icon
- Copy Position (FEN) in addition to Copy Game (PGN) item in contextual menu, accessible from the Games List
Fixed
- Capturing rook on its start position did not update state correctly, causing the engine to crash
- Tapping New Game could cause the app to freeze when device’s Text Size was set to more than 100%
- Empty game list graphics looked like you could tap it to create new game
- Status bar appearance glitch when presenting What's New after first launch
- Animating between two non-adjacent positions could move pieces in a way they were not played in the game
- King highlighting between certain states made it appear almost flashing
- King highlighting in a drawn game was done in gray (is now yellow)
- Colors have been adjusted to improve contrast (still some way to go on the board scene in general)
- Board selection color is now more subdued
