In the most distant reaches of the world, magic still exists, embodied by spirits of the land, of the sky, and of every natural thing. As the great powers of Europe stretch their colonial empires further and further, they will inevitably lay claim to a place where spirits still hold power - and when they do, the land itself will fight back alongside the islanders who live there.
Spirit Island is a cooperative settler-destruction strategy game designed by R. Eric Reuss and set in an alternate-history world around A.D. 1700. Players become different Spirits of the land, each with their own unique elemental powers, forced to defend their island home from colonizing Invaders spreading blight and destruction. Your Spirits work with the native Dahan to increase your power and drive the invading colonists from your island in this strategic area-control game.

This update has a number of fixes and improvements, including:
- Fixed a problem where resuming a multiplayer game saved for later would not allow previously disconnected players to join the game.
- Strength of the Waking Island may now be used at the same time another Spirit is using a Power in multiplayer.
- If Reclaimed by the Deeps is used on a land already combined with the Ocean via Weave Together the Fabric of Place, it now properly becomes part of the Ocean.
- Lure of the Deep Wilderness may now allow Explorers to participate in a Ravage Action created by Habsburg Mining Expedition’s Ceaseless Mining during the Build Step.
- The Event Restlessness now allows correct lands to Push from when Habsburg Mining Expedition 4+'s Salt Deposits is in the Build Space.
- Serpent Slumbers Beneath the Island's (Locus Aspect) Serpent Rouses in Anger now correctly counts Incarna towards damage of the third threshold.
- Fixed a problem where the game could become unresponsive while resolving the Build step when Habsburg Mining Expedition and Dream of the Untouched Land (with threshold) are in play.
- Undoing Dances Up Earthquake’s “Add a Presence OR Gain Major Power” Growth no longer allows you to choose Adding Presence after revealing Major Power Cards, which caused the next Gain Power Card to use those revealed Major Power Cards.
- While playing as Shifting Memory of Ages, using Inspire the Release of Stolen Lands with Element Markers to achieve the threshold requires the markers to be spent to target a Blighted land.
- Fixed a problem interaction between Infestation of Venomous Spiders and the Fear Card Panicked by Wild Beasts.
- Terror Breeds Aggression (Beasts Multiply) now sees Beasts that are in the Ocean while Ocean’s in Play.
- Mesmerized Tranquility now reduces damage from Wounded Lands Attract Explorers (Raiding and Retaliation).
- Wandering Voice Keens Delirium may now count its Incarna as Presence or not during all Ravages.
- Fixed a problem where undoing a Gain Energy in Growth that partially fulfilled a Bargain could incorrectly prevent too much Energy Gain when redoing.
- Using Blazing Intimidation as a held over Power in Second Wave no longer causes the game to become unresponsive.
- Visions of a Shifting Future no longer allows certain specially placed Adversary cards to be moved to the bottom of the Invader Deck.
- Repeated Call to Guard on a land now works properly when France 2+ builds there.
- Spirit Foresight now shows the correct Build preview in Coastal lands in the Great River scenario against France.
