Practica Musica
macOS / Musique
Practica Musica 7.205 is the latest version of the music theory and ear training standard that first appeared in 1987 and has trained both college and high school students ever since. It features scores of interactive learning activities from beginner level to advanced, plus an included digital textbook with live music examples: Exploring Theory With Practica Musica. It can be used either on your own or as part of a course. Practica Musica's wide wide range of difficulty runs from beginning exercises like "Up or Down" and "Leaps and Steps" all the way to the sort of exercises appropriate to a college course in Music Fundamentals - Melodic/Rhythmic dictation, Roman Numeral Analysis, and more. Graduated exercises in Pitch Reading and Rhythm Reading will help you learn to read music from a standing start and at your own speed, and activities like Rhythm Band, Rhythm Practice, and Songbook offer fun combined with learning. Practice exams provide endlessly varied material when you want to test your knowledge (and if you're in a class, an instructor can turn those into real exams). Practica Musica even includes notation tools for writing your own music (visit www.ars-nova.com for more information). This Family/Studio edition allows multiple users to track their progress on the same computer, earning gold stars as they go.
Quoi de neuf dans la dernière version ?
7.205 includes several small but useful fixes, for example improving behavior of playback in more complex examples that may have repeats, 1st/2nd endings, etc. Other features new in recent updates: The "active listening" feature now allows you to tap the rhythm of one part in a polyphonic composition while hearing the other parts follow your lead, pausing where you pause, etc. See the Composition activity to try this out - you have full access to our online library with various multipart works, from viol consort music to Bach chorales, to Handel's complete Messiah. Don't miss the Rhythm Practice activity, which resembles our ios app, Rhythmist, creating always-new short music examples for you to practice tapping as chord accompaniment follows along.
