Jovanotti: Live 2184 (Lorenzo Negli Stadi 2015)
The SHOW is set in 2184, explains Lorenzo, "The show is my idea of "a rock and roll show" today. It’s a lot tighter compared to 2013, it is "poetic action" that sets lightheartedness as its goal, and has a lot to do with my childhood ("I said goodbye to my youth ... to become a child again") and the sense of wonder and involvement you feel before you start living in the real world, the world of sharp wits and suspicion." "I chose LIGHTNING because it is a transition between heaven and earth, and at the same time it is energy, electricity, speed, surprise, velocity, light against the darkness, but it is also a CRACK proclaiming our frailty, moving dangerously to demonstrate that everything is in a state of absolute precariousness. What I had in mind were big stages, like the concerts that have really inspired me, U2’s massive stage layouts, or concerts like Springsteen’s, and that special something that can turn a stadium into intimate space where you can really make CONTACT.” The initial film was written by Lorenzo in collaboration with two directors Antonio Usbergo and Niccolò Celaia for Younuts Production. Thanks go to Michele Truglio for the live direction, and to Sergio Pappalettera with whom Lorenzo coordinated all the visuals of the show. Extra content is given by the tribute paid with Eros Ramazzotti to friend and fellow musician Pino Daniele, who chose that same venue, the San Paolo stadium in Naples, in 1994, when all three were onstage together for his comeback appearance after a long absence. With them was the great saxophonist James Senese, an "icon" of the new Naples sound, who with Pino and his songs changed the history of the city and of Italian music as a whole. The tribute by the stadium to the artist who died last January has already made history.
