Spatial Perception
iPhone / Education
The 'Spatial Perception' app allows you to determine the level of spatial perception of the performer, namely the speed of recognizing geometric shapes. At the first stage, 2D shapes are compared, and at the second stage, 3D shapes are compared. In the third stage, the comparison takes place after a preliminary rotation of the shapes. At the fourth stage, visual stimuli were added to the rotating shapes to prevent the recognition of 3D shapes. If the shapes are the same, click on "Same” (green box), if they are different, click on “Different” (red box).
In the app settings, you can choose the texture that will be used to represent the shapes. The first texture ('Chess texture') has sufficient contrast to identify the shape. Moderate visual stimulation allows you to maintain attention without overload. The second texture ('Grey Wood') has a minimalist design and low visual stimulation, which allows you to focus on the shapes without unnecessary distractions. The third texture ('Color Abstraction') has a high visual stimulation and requires increased attention and vigilance from the performer. The performer can see how the visual stimuli (geometric shapes) look in space. For a closer look at these shapes, you can select '2D shapes' or '3D shapes'. 3D shapes can be rotated and viewed from different angles. The 'Demo test' mode allows you to see how the shapes will be presented at each of the four stages. Depending on the purpose of the study, the age and motor experience of the performers, you can choose a test task that includes 2, 3 or 4 stages and the number of attempts at each stage (from 10 to 40).
Model characteristics can be generated based on measurement results. To do this, navigate to the 'Data' section, click 'Choose', select the desired measurements, and click the 'Model'. On the next screen, the main characteristics of the selected measurements are displayed. If the characteristics are satisfactory, click 'Create model'. Created models are accessible in the settings under 'Models based on measurements'. To compare measurement results with a model, go to the 'Data' section, select a measurement, click 'Summery', and on the next screen, select 'Assessment'. As an example, the model characteristics of martial artists of high sports qualification 'Martial arts model' are set by default.
Also, in the settings, you can also save a backup of your measurements in JSON format anywhere (Save backup), add measurements from another device (Add backup), replace already saved measurements with new ones (Replace backup), or delete all data (Delete all data). The 'Demo test' mode allows you to see how the shapes will be presented at each of the four stages. The performer can see how the visual stimuli (geometric shapes) look in space.
This app can be utilized by athletes and teachers from specialized educational institutions for their scientific research.
