Bird Hunter is a local-first birding reference and life-list app for people who want a quick way to narrow species in the field and keep private sighting notes.
Use practical filters like size, behavior, habitat, color, and region to find likely birds, then open a species page when you are ready to log the sighting.
What you can do with Bird Hunter:
- identify likely species with a fast field filter
- log sightings with date, notes, confidence, and your own location label
- attach an optional bird photo from Camera or Photos
- browse your private life list with saved sightings
- compare birds side by side across range, habitat, migration, conservation status, and body traits
- browse curated collections such as Threat Watch, Island Specialists, Migratory Flyers, Small Wonders, Heavyweights, and Tropical Core
- generate share-ready sighting text through Apple's system share sheet
Bird Hunter includes attribution for BIRDBASE 2025.1 and AVONET v7 in the app and support materials.
Bird Hunter does not require an account, does not include analytics or tracking, and does not upload your photos or notes to a developer-run server.
